In Geez,149 Fols,17x15,5cm, Approx 20 lines to the page. The parchment of this manuscript shows troughout usage and is sometimes worn. A simple harag decoration is found on fol.40r. The wooden plaques are repaired. All together a fine example of traditional Ethiopic manuscript making.Yust one little hole found on fol.90, and little repairs found on fol.32,77,82.It has also 9 beautiful paintings in it. |

The text copied here is a regular Psalter for as far as there is any regularity in it. Most often they contain the Psalms, the biblical cantica and the praises of Mary. Among the various texts are found prayers (Prayers of Moses,fol.114 l),Psalms, theory,( Reproach,reprimand on priests, learned men, lords and princes,fol.65 l) and weekday hyms for the Virgin Maryam (fol.133 l). Curiously the weekend days are named 'restday' of the Jews and'restdäy'of the Christians. A beautiful piece of a traditional Ethiopian liturgical manuscript. The ever present elements of nature in this manuscript and material were conquered in order to create an useful and efficient book. What makes this manuscript even more interseting, are the texts on(fol .1 on both sides),and on (fol.144r) and (fol.147 and 148 on both sides) all with personel text. Also special are the 9 high quality paintings in the book. |
