| context |
Treatise on five dogma’s (called secrets) of the Christian belief, being (1) trinity, (2) body of flesh, (3)baptism, (4) Offering of communion, (5) resurrection. The whole content is rendered in a preaching style. Making analogies with stories from the bible and of course quoting the latter.
In the beginning of the book the author stresses the importance of religious eductaion. A well known metaphor is used to emphasize: “A good base is essential for building a strong house that can resist heavy wind.”
The book is divided into 5 “secrets” (topics). As the books is not of liturgical or standard content, Amharic is used, in stead of liturgical Geez. |
