The Armenian prayerbook was standard in most Armenian book collections. What is quite interesting is the date of this manuscript. The first Armenian book to be printed was already in 1511, but until the middle of the eighteenth century printing on large scale in Armenian didn't occur and their luck always depended on the favour of political leaders towards the Armenians. The book is printed at the printing house of "Bowisin", an unknown name so far. |
